Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience (required)

• Strong multitasking and project management skills

• Interest in and desire to work in the event/wedding industry

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Valid Driver’s License (preferred)

• Flower design experience (preferred but not required)

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

• Knowledge of social media marketing

• Proficiency in English (Spanish or another language a plus)

Responsibilities

Customer Interaction:

• Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person sales at our Manhattan storefront

• Understand customer visions and preferences, offering expert floral advice

• Provide luxury-level client service for high-end orders, events, and corporate accounts

Administrative Tasks:

• Prepare and send out price quotes and invoices as needed

• Manage inventory and update our POS system

• Create efficient routes for delivery drivers and coordinate with them

Floral Design & Maintenance:

• Assist florists in creating unique, designer floral arrangements

• Clean and prep flowers, maintain the cooler, manage stock rotation, and assist with cleanup

• Support event setup and breakdown across venues in New York City

• Stay knowledgeable about flowers, plants, and design trends to better serve clients

• Occasionally drive to suppliers or deliver flowers when required

Marketing and Community Engagement:

• Capture behind-the-scenes and finished product content for marketing and social media

• Assist with posting and engage with our local Manhattan audience

• Support projects tied to Novapetal’s NYC growth, including venue research, partnerships, and brand awareness campaigns

• Provide feedback and ideas for creative campaigns and activations

Team Collaboration and Growth:

• Collaborate with Novapetal Flower Lab Management to enhance customer experience and brand presence

• Participate in continuous improvement and team-building

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a florist shop or event planning/design business (preferred)

• Exceptional creativity and attention to detail

• Background in customer service, retail, or administrative roles

• Experience with wedding floral design (a plus)

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: 32–40 hours per week (full-time), with additional hours during peak floral seasons and major holidays

• Availability required for weekdays, weekends, and holidays during peak demand

• Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (depending on experience and skill)
