As Seen In
Novapetal has been designing flowers since 2021 from our Upper East Side studio, and was named to America’s Favorite Mom & Pop Shops® 2023 by Entrepreneur and Yelp.
Our Story
We Believe Floral Art Belongs in Everyday Life
Novapetal began with founder Olga Sheppard’s dream of bringing the artistry of European floristry into everyday flower delivery.
What started as an idea in 2020 became Novapetal in 2021, and eventually brought Olga and her husband and co-founder, Anthony Sheppard, from Phoenix to New York.
Today, from our Upper East Side studio, our floral team still works around the same belief: extraordinary floral design should not be reserved for weddings and events. Every arrangement is designed by a florist, made by hand, and created with the same attention to composition, movement and detail, whether it is for a major celebration or simply an ordinary day.
I wanted floral art to exist beyond weddings and events — to become something people could experience every day.
What sets us apart
Your best florists in the upper east side, Deeply Rooted in Our NYC Community
From our roots to national recognition as one of the Top 150 Mom & Pop Shops of 2023. Every arrangement carries the weight of our name: refined, reliable and unforgettable.
Need Flowers Today? We Deliver
Same-day flower delivery across the 5 boroughs; Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island, when you order by 3 PM Eastern. We are open seven days a week, Sunday included, so the same cut-off applies every day, and deliveries run between 9 AM and 8 PM with the window chosen at checkout.
See It First. Send It With Confidence.
Transparency is luxury. Before delivery, you’ll receive a photo of your exact arrangement, designed by our NYC florists. The photo goes out before the flowers leave our studio. Precision, proof, and peace of mind.
Designed by NYC Florists, Just for You
Every arrangement is built by hand in our studio at 355 E 72nd Street by designers with more than 65 years of combined experience across European and American floral traditions. Each stem is selected and each detail considered, to ensure lasting beauty and flawless presentation. Our flowers come from American growers and private farms, and from growers in Holland, Japan, Ecuador and Kenya, so rare blooms (anthurium, protea, ranunculus, anemones) go into arrangements a typical New York florist cannot build.
Where Presentation Becomes Art
Every arrangement leaves our NYC studio flawlessly styled and elegantly wrapped, presented in our signature Novapetal box with a card and envelope included, a gift designed to make the statement you intend.

65+ Years of Floral Experience
The company is young. The hands are not.
Novapetal is a family-owned floral studio rooted on New York’s Upper East Side. Founded in 2021, our studio brings together floral artists with more than 65 years of combined experience across European and American floral traditions, from a senior designer approaching three decades at the bench to florists in their first years.
We hire artists, not assemblers. Every arrangement is designed by hand, with its own balance, movement and character, which is why no two Novapetal arrangements are exactly alike.
Our name comes from nova, Latin for “new,” and the name given to a star that suddenly shines with new brilliance. It reflects the idea Novapetal was founded on: bringing a new point of view to an old craft.
European eye. American generosity. A new generation of floristry.

Why We are Number One in NYC

At Novapetal, arrangements start at around $100. Our signature designs sit between $150 and $275, for example Paris at $229, the Candlelight Garden Rose box at $255, and No. 72 at $275. Statement pieces for events and large gifts run from $300 to over $1,000. The minimum for delivery is $85, and delivery is calculated at checkout by destination.
Three things separate a luxury arrangement from a supermarket bouquet: the grade of the stems, the number of them, and who arranges them. We buy AAA-graded roses and premium orchids, build every arrangement by hand in our Upper East Side studio, and photograph the finished piece so you approve it before it leaves. If the flowers are not what you expected, tell us the same day and we will replace or refund.
Yes, it is what we are known for. We work with American growers and private farms, and with growers in Holland, Japan, Ecuador and Kenya, rather than buying from a single local wholesaler, so we keep stems most New York shops do not: anthurium, protea, ranunculus and anemones, plus peonies year-round rather than only during their short season, dahlias in season, premium orchids and garden roses. Tulips arrive fresh from California and Holland. For a specific flower or a colour palette you have in mind, tell us in the order notes or call 212-216-0900 and our designers will source it for a custom arrangement.
Five to seven days for most arrangements, kept in a cool room away from direct sun, heat and ripening fruit. Orchids and dried elements hold considerably longer. Roses and hydrangea last longest with fresh water every two days and a diagonal trim off the stems. Any florist promising two weeks from fresh-cut blooms is overselling.
